St Brendans 4:14 St Endas 3:09
This was a match between the McMullan Cup finalists but with better
weather. St Endas got out of the blocks quickly and in the first minute led by
a point. Declan then replied on six minutes to level the game after Connor’s
penetrating solo left Declan a chip in. In the next nineteen minutes St Enda’s
would not register a score as St Brendans hit 1:05. Mathew’s barnstorming run
ended in a 30 yard point. Eoin got on the score sheet when Aidan’s free dropped
short and Eoin shot over his shoulder, Mathew fed Declan and he hit the three
pointer and it looked as if St Brendans would win at a canter. However St
Enda’s had a mini revival with two unanswered points in the twenty fifty and
twenty sixth minutes before James put over from around fifty yards out, St
Enda’s cancelled James score with one of their own and on the stroke of
halftime Eoin ran in a goal to leave the HT Score:- St Brendans 2:07
St Endas 0:04.
The second half was a more even contest and by the seventeenth minute
both teams had scored three more points all Benny’s points coming from Conleth.
Donal cancelled out a St Endas twentieth minute goal when he received the
sliothar from Jordan and smartly slotted it pass the out rushing goalkeeper.
Cormac Ross put over a free from thirty yards out but the response was instant from
Declan (2), Eoin (2) and a maximum by Mathew finished the game as a contest. In
injury time St Endas score 2:01 to complete the scoring in this match.
