Cushendun were possibly keeping one eye on the up and comong JHC semi final on Sunday, but that may be a dis-service to Carey who asserted themselves at half time and came out a different team in the second half.
Cushendun got off to a better start and found themselves in the driving seat for the first 15 mins, however a return of 4 points was not enough to reflect their dominance and there was the fear that when Carey did assert themselves, they would turn this slim lead around, for the remainder of the first half it was still more the Emmets than the Faughs and Cushenduns inability to take scores, either below or above the cross bar, meant that they went into half time holding the slimest of leads 0-4 to 0-3.
The second half was to be Careys, they chalked up 1 goal and 9 points compared to Cushenduns 1 -1, the point coming from a free.
Cushendun possibly tried to go for goals too early and much will be drawn from this game for Sunday, we hope!
Carey march on in the league and are now looking good for a top finish, final score 1-12 to 1-5
